Venture Concept No. 2
· 1. Opportunity: Rates of drug abuse continue
to rise in the United States.
o
Even with increased awareness about substance
use disorders, many patients do not receive treatment. All Americans of any age
prescribed narcotics that have the potential for drug abuse, Health care plans,
States. Many states currently have patients who are not receiving any treatment
for substance abuse disorders. Access to
care challenges is one important factor related to receiving treatment.
·
Innovation: Americans who are already
addicted to prescription drugs, Americans who are not (or yet) addicted to
prescription drugs, Americans who have insurance and Americans without
insurance.
o
Americans who want treatment and Americans who
don’t want treatment whether they actually need it or not.Only testing people
prescribed narcotics that have a high rate of dependency abuse. The patients
that would be a challenge are the ones who need the treatment but may not want
it (yet).
§
There’s more people who need treatment than
those who do not receive treatment according to studies, but do not currently
receive treatment. There are many ‘whys,’ but I believe the most important why
is the actual access to healthcare challenges. States could focus on review
present benefits of these patients and set goals to achieve the result of
increased numbers of patients receiving treatment. The most important people for
me to interview were the ones that were currently in treatment or need to be in
treatment and also the people who have already are done with the treatment.
·
What I didn’t know before was the amount of
people who needed treatment but had some form of excuse of why they wouldn’t
go. Whether it was denial or there were trying to hide it, they found some
reason to not go to treatment. Also, it seems that they were unaware of what
insurance plans covered and didn’t cover. Some didn’t even know how to obtain
insurance and what the costs and policies could do for their treatment plans.
·

2. It was recommended that I use bulletin points to make it easier for the reader to follow. I did this, and now it looks very organized and very legible.
3. I didn't need to change my venture concept because I have been working on it for weeks and made the necessary tweaks.

Hi Kim, you did a great job on your post! I commented on your first Venture Concept, and I think you have improved significantly with this second one. Although I was very impressed by your first venture concept, I agree with the feedback that you mentioned in your post. I think adding bullet points definitely makes it easier to read and navigate. Bullet points also keep your reader engaged because they can visually differentiate the ideas in a long piece of text. Overall, great job on your post and keep up the good work!
ReplyDeleteHey Kim, I think you did an awesome job on this post. Your plan has lots of detail and you clearly put time into the venture concept. I particularly think that your innovation and opportunity sections are the best parts of the post. Overall, I've enjoyed reading your posts throughout the semester and I hope everything works out.
