Create a Customer Avatar
My prototypical customer is a 21-25 years aged waitress or waiter.
Their hobbies is partying every night, including at work. What I mean is, they’re
abusing prescription drugs and trying to maintain their job as a restaurant server.
They don’t have other hobbies because they spend all of their time working for
more money to spend on their next “high.” They probably have a beat up car and
could use a new one but doesn’t know how to budget their money. Even though they’re
25 years old, they feel like they are much older because their bodies feel like
they are falling apart due to the result of drug use.
I have a lot in common with this customer because I used to
be this customer. I used drugs for the past ten years of my life. I now have
three years and eight months clean. If my job would have offered me in-patient
detox, I would have known there was a way out of my addiction. I created the
avatar to look like she was “bugged out” from drugs and looking like she needed
to go to sleep – she looked just like me!

Hey Kim, your post was very interesting! The avatar you described had a lot of detail in reference to them basically living pay check to pay check to keep up their hazardous life style. Lastly, I loved how at the end you included your own story which will definitely connect with the audience. Keep up the great work!

ReplyDeleteKudos to you in your recovery. You have provided great detail in describing your avatar where I could understand the reasons why there is a problem and how your solution will help solve it. I can appreciate how you designed the avatar to look “bugged out” and think you accomplished that goal. Reading your story tugs at my heartstrings and I can feel the passion you have for this concept. Keep up the great work.
